A Message from Ricky Leach Regarding the End of the World
20 Oct 2011
My poor lost soul,
As you will know doubt be aware, the televangelist Harold Camping's postponed prediction of the rapture, God's final judgement, will be occurring at some point today. To celebrate the fact the 5-track EP Yonic Totem will be available to download for free all day today. What better way to spend your final moments on this mortal coil!
This is also the first time the album has been available as high quality mp3s, and also includes a document of hypertext lyrics and liner notes, plus pictures of the physical artwork made from prettily block-printed old gramophone record sleeves.
Assuming we survive the judgement, or that all infrastructures are intact when everything goes all amazing and heavenly, then the record will be available to download in future through itunes, emusic, spotify and amazon, however, for this we will charge you. Yonic Totem has so far only been available in limited-edition handmade physical copies. However, what you won't get in any virtual copies of the album, apart from a nice-looking tangible commodity, will be a cover of Scott Walker's The Seventh Seal. That's only available on the physical CD version through the online Lost Toys store. You can buy that today too, and of course we at Lost Toys would appreciate a few fivers to vainly plead our maker's mercy with, like the mammon-drenched heathens we have become.
LTR Adds: Please Note this album is available free for 24 hours only. should the end of the world not occur today, we'll remove the link and you'll be able to buy the physical copy from the Lost Toys shop, or download the album from Monday 7th November. See you in hell.

It is the first time the Arts Council funded sculpture and film 'The Return of the Pyramid Piece' will go on show. This is the first of what will be a triptych of CD's by the Johnny Parry Trio. It is also the first set of studio recordings as a three piece rather than Johnny on his own, giving it a very different feel. The 8 'Little Prayers' contain two alternate versions from 'Songs Without a Purpose' and one from Johnny's debute album from 2003 'Break Your Little Heart'. It is also the first set of recordings to surface from the just finished Lost Toys Studio, hidden out in the Bedfordshire countryside.
SHOW WITHOUT PUNCH and The GRUBBY MITTS will also perform at the Luminaire in support of a full set by JP Trio.
As heard on 6music Grubby Mitts New single To a Friend's House is out now, through Lost Toys, and distributed by Cargo. Also available on itunes and spotify.
"The Grubby Mitts want to take you on a thoughtscursion, their song the refrain. There is something oddly moving and hypnotic about it. Perhaps it is the sentiment; ambling round to someone else’s house, the promise of homecooked vittles, only a churl could object." (Drowned in Sound)
"Deceptively simple but utterly uplifting: an inspiring battle-hymn of honest friendship" (The Folly of Youth)
"It's quirky, affectionate, affecting and sounds like The Polyphonic Spree if they'd been brought up in a council house in Croyden."(the Devil Has the Best Tuna)
The Buzzard Lope record is available now in the lost toys records shop or through the normal digital channels. Highly recomended. The band are back in the studio already so fingers crossed for a follow up by the end of the year.
Johnny Parry, More Love and Death, is now released in Germany and Northan Europe though Songs and Whispers and Cargo Europe as well as through the Lost Toys shop.
Teeth Union out now on Lost Toys! Distributed through Cargo and available through all good records stores. Thanks to all those who came to support the launch at Rough Trade East.
The Debut album Teeth Union has been getting some great reviews as well as some radio play. In an unlikely twist a band on Lost Toys gets a review in the NME, here's what it said:
